The location of the hotel was marvellous and ideal - within easy walking distance of Boucher trail. The area was relatively quiet, a great place for me. Cereal, milk, fresh bread and yogurt were appetising as well as the drinks.

not at all, Hotel's dirty with bugs
Check online for bug reports of this hotels, I wish I did before I book. Got bed bugs bits even after changed the room, hotel stuff refuse to given owner's information nor hotel insurance information nor anything in written! and the owner never called back for settlement. Do not ever use this hotel.

We were on a road trip and wanted to see some places along the way, including Hearst Castle and beaches. We decided to stay at Days Inn San Simeon because of the price and location to the Castle. For the price and location, it hit the spot and we were happy with it. Was it luxurious - no, but then again I wasn't willing to pay the price for the higher end hotels, I simply wanted a clean and convenient hotel. We stayed here two nights and it worked out fine. We had access to the beaches by going across the street, and then again as we drove up Hwy 1.
Suggest a little upgrade to the breakfast by adding fresh fruit, non-fat milk and better coffee. Also, would have been nice to have table and chairs outside our room on patio.

Make sure to check the air conditioning. It was quite warm , and the cooling took a bit to adjust.

The room was big and clean, very close to Hearst castle. The breakfast was good, you just need to go at the right time, sometimes the room can get very crowded.

Three of the five lamps in my room didn't work, and the small electrical heater (which replaced the non-functioning old gas heater) made too much noise for me at night.

The first room we entered had someone already inside, shocking. Then, in the second room, I found the toilet very unsteady, and several holes in the walls. The noise level was high, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that the hotel lacked proper communication among its staff.

A comfortable bed in the middle of the sf/la trip.

We needed a hotel near to Hearst Castle and Days Inn was perfectly located and excellent value for money. We had a large king room which had been newly refurbished and continental breakfast was included too.
Builders are on site as some rooms are still being refurbished but this didn't really detract from our stay.

Still waiting on the promised pool!!! Would be great to have better entry mats for rainy days. A little outdoor seating would add a nice touch who want to enjoy the fresh air!!!

Traelling a lot across country I'm very familiar with Days Inns - basic and something in your stomach first thing in the morning - travelling - but don't want to buy the place - it mostly turns out to be a fairly good value -this Days Inn met the Days Inn standards expexted!

We needed to find a place to stay near the Hearst Castle on our drive from la to sf and this is the perfect mid-point stop. The room was unexpectedly big, staff very friendly and helpful in getting us the tickets to Hearst Castle. As guests of Days Inn, one can get 10% off at the Big Sur Cafe next door. Free wireless was excellent.
The breakfast was a bit simple, but the self-making waffle was fun.
